And the 2019 journey begins ...

We are thrilled to celebrate our sixth season of Team Brandon Valley basketball! This year 95 student athletes are hitting the gym and getting better every day! Our first tournament of 2019 is already in the books - after taking four teams to Harrisburg last weekend we’re thrilled to announce our first players of the week.

Three cheers to our varsity team for “bringing home the hardware” with their first tournament championship of the season. We’re returning quite a bit of talent this year and can’t wait to see them in action this spring and summer.

Jake Kospsas, 6th grade: Coach Jurgens is proud to recognize Jake for his work on the court this weekend. He said Jake played hard throughout the tournament and had some impressive hustle plays. Jake tells us he loves basketball because he has fun every time he steps onto the court. He also plays football and baseball.

Jack Thue, 7th grade: Jack impressed Coach Waltner this weekend with his energy on both offense and defense. He worked to push the ball and pressured full court. Jack tells us he plays Team Brandon Valley basketball because he enjoys getting better and having fun. He also plays football and runs track. Jack’s favorite BV athlete is Jackson Hilton.

Max VanWesten, 9th grade: Coach Scholten said Max is always one of the hardest workers on the floor. He gives his all to compete and does whatever it takes to win. Max tells us he enjoys playing playing Team Brandon Valley basketball because he gets to travel to new places and play against new teams during every tournament. He also plays football. Max’s favorite BV athlete is Alex Waltner.

Jackson Hilton, 10th grade: Coach Schultz said Jackson brought a lot of juice to both ends of the floor last weekend. He was asked to guard the best players and was our most consistent scorer. Jackson tells us his favorite thing about playing Team Brandon Valley basketball is being on the court with his teammates, many of whom he’s been playing with since elementary school. He also plays football. Jackson’s favorite BV athlete is Chase Marso.
