Getting better every day

Team Brandon Valley was back in action last weekend at the Sanford Pentagon and it was fun to see our players get better with through every game! Today we are thrilled to recognize four stand-out athletes as our players of the week.

Dylan Jahraus, 6th grade: Coach Scholten said Dylan was a very coachable athlete all weekend. He was impactful on offense with his scoring and vocal leadership and with ball pressure on defense. Dylan tells us his favorite thing about Team Brandon is learning new plays and new things to do on the court. He also enjoys baseball, football, hunting and fishing. Dylan’s favorite BV athlete is Carter Olthoff.

Caden Dowd, 7th grade: Coach Jurgens said Caden was a serious defensive threat last weekend. He played with heart and locked down the opposing teams’ best players. Caden tells us he plays basketball because it is fun to be on the court with all of his friends. He also plays football, baseball and runs track. He says his favorite BV athlete is Carter Olthoff.

Michael Alpers, 7th grade: Coach Waltner was impressed with Michael’s offensive work this weekend. He was a consistent threat and scored consistently for his team. He was also asked to guard the opposing teams’ best players and did a great job. Michael tells us not only does he love to play basketball with his friends but it is also an important part of their family time. He says his favorite BV athlete is Zach Scholten.

Mason McManus, 9th grade: Coach Schultz is recognizing Mason because of his outstanding effort last weekend. Mason came up with multiple key rebounds which put his team in great positions throughout the tournament. He also battled on defense and pushed the pace on offense. Mason tells us his favorite thing about playing with Team Brandon Valley is traveling to tournaments with his friends. In addition to basketball he also runs track and enjoys swimming, hiking and boating. His favorite BV athletes are Carter Olthoff and Evan Talcott.
